IN SEARCH OF THE SACRED DOOR - Fourth Grade In Search of the Sacred Door is a knowledge-based course in the Bible – its definition, history, structure, and story from Genesis to Revelation. Using the metaphor of an archaeological expedition to the Holy Land, the fourth graders gain a basic literacy of the Bible. From their tent in the Israeli desert, they are led in their adventure by Dr. Bones and his sidekick Eureka. Often they must pass through Pilgrim’s Portal where Talmon, the unseen doorkeeper, test them on their knowledge of Scripture. “Fabulously rare” artifacts, relating to the Bible story, are un-covered by the children at the dig sites. They ultimately discover that Jesus is the Sacred Door and their hearts are the keys to opening this door to eternal life.
