Check-In
Check-in for your all children between the ages of birth-5 years is located in the courtyard at the Children’s Ministry Welcome Window. Children will be given their age appropriate badges and parents will receive a claim card. After check-in you will then take your child to the designated areas as follows:
Birth thru 4 will be in the Infant/Toddler Center. 4-5 years old will be on the second floor of the CE Building.
Check-Out
You must have your matching sticker to claim your child.
Please Note: Older siblings are not allowed to check-in/check-out younger siblings. Each parent should check-in and check-out their own children.
What If We Need You
Parents should refrain from checking on their child during children’s programs. It may upset your children to see people come and go from their classrooms. Parents will be notified immediately (by cell phone or Joy Wertz) if they are needed. Whenever possible, children should remain in their assigned rooms throughout service and Sunday school class times. This will minimize disruptions and distractions during the children’s class time.
Discipline Policy
At Village Church our caregivers support the Love and Logic Parenting Format. We treat children with respect and teach them to do likewise to others. We share control and set limits by giving choices. We allow for mistakes in order for the child to learn and become an independent thinker. When a child makes a wrong choice (being disrespectful), the following may occur:
Empathy with consequences (ex. chill-out chair)
Positive reinforcement for improved behavior
Parent may be contacted by the director if necessary
Medications
No medication of any kind – not even Tylenol – will be administered by any caregiver. Any medications a child requires should be administered prior to checking the child in.
Sick Policy
For the protection of all our children, please adhere to these guidelines when determining if you should bring your child to any children’s programs. Your child will not be able to attend any children’s programs if they have any of the following symptoms:
Fever 99.6 currently or in the last 24 hours
Vomiting or diarrhea currently or in the last 24 hours
Runny nose (only clear runny noses are okay)
Discharge in or around the eyes
Excessive cough
Questionable rashes
Skin infections (impetigo, boils, ringworm, etc.)
Eye infections
Any communicable diseases
Treatment with antibiotics started less than 24 hours ago
Childhood diseases (chicken pox, mumps, etc.)
Special Notices:
If your child develops any of the above symptoms while in our care, we will have you remove your child from children’s programs immediately.
Please make us aware of ANY allergies. We do not give snacks that have any peanuts or peanut oils in the ingredients in case of peanut allergies.
Please pick up your children promptly at the end of service. Sometimes even the most well adjusted child will become fearful or anxious if he/she is left after other children have gone.
